OUR PARTNERS
Some women give their lives so that other women may have better ones. We're with them all the way.
Cambodia
Stung Treng Women's Development Centre
Stung Treng Women's Development Centre (SWDC) is a registered Cambodian non-profit organisation located in one of the poorest rural provinces in Cambodia.
Founded in 2001 by Chantha Nguon and her husband, Kim Dara Chan, the organisation supports some of the regions most vulnerable women and their children through vocational training, skilled employment at their business arm, Mekong Blue, and a range of health and literacy programs.
SWDC's business, Mekong Blue, is a social enterprise producing high-quality Cambodian silk hand-woven by women trained in SWDC's weaving training and employment program. The exquisite quality of these products earned Mekong Blue a UNESCO award for excellence in 2004 and 2005.
You will soon be able to purchase Mekong Blue products through our shop. If you wish to stock or utilise Mekong Blue textiles, please get in contact with us.
We've proudly supported SWDC since our inception in 2013. Read up on what we're working on at the moment.
Nepal
Women's Foundation Nepal
The Women's Foundation Nepal (WFN) is a grassroots women's organisation delivering a range of programs for women across Nepal.
Based in Kathmandu, WFN was founded in 1988 by a group of young Nepali women including current President, Renu Sharma, frustrated by the status of women's rights in Nepal. They established WFN initially to facilitate free legal support to survivors of violence, trafficking and slavery.
WFN has since evolved into an organisation with thousands of members and a huge range of activities including a shelter for women and their children fleeing violence, vocational training and business development programs, microcredit schemes, leadership training, scholarships, legal and psychosocial services, advocacy, community awareness and a social enterprise textiles cooperative, Maheela.
You will soon be able to purchase Maheela products through our shop. If you wish to stock or utilise Maheela textiles, please get in contact with us.
We've proudly supported WFN since our inception in 2013. Read up on what we're working on at the moment.
Burundi
Reavi Baho
As a grassroots organisation in Burundi working with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, REAVI-Baho is dedicated to providing women with the psychological, emotional and social support they need to rebuild and improve their own lives.
We’ve teamed up with them to provide 60 women over 3 months with a highly sort after modern basket weaving training program and associated business training, start up capital and store front premises in the marketplace so they can collectively sell their wares and earn themselves an income.
All this costs just $90 in total per program participant - or just $30 per month.
Reavi-Baho is our newest partner, joining the GWP family in September 2020.
