We are working towards a gender equal world where all of us can live free from poverty, discrimination, violence and inequality.

However, as things stand it is women who experience the majority of the world’s poverty, discrimination, violence and inequality, and we want to change that.
That’s why we work alongside remarkable grassroots women’s organisations to improve the lives of women in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the world.
Through our grassroots partners, we invest in women’s education, livelihoods and leadership.
We know this is one of the most effective ways to eliminate the feminisation of poverty, discrimination, violence against women and gender injustice. It’s also one of the most effective ways to bring entire communities out of poverty, because when you invest in women, they invest back into their families and communities.
It’s simple. When women are educated, employed and participate in community decision-making, they have more control over their lives, and can better care for their families.
Investing in women is fair, just and helps communities thrive.
So instead of asking why we fight for gender equality and women’s empowerment, ask why not?
